From tear-out to finished pergola, with the same crew on site throughout

This customer had worked with us before on an outdoor lighting project, so when the back patio needed replacing we were the only company they called.

There were two problems. Three Autumn Blaze maples had outgrown the brick circles laid around them, and the roots had pushed the bricks up until the surface was uneven. Separately, a nine-year-old concrete patio, laid by their builder rather than by us, had settled badly and cracked. They wanted an area that could comfortably seat eight to ten people, and raised the idea of a pergola because the sun beats down on the yard as it sets.

Daniel McClure drew up the plans. The crew took down an old tree and removed the stump, planted five pine trees, tore out and replaced the brick surrounding the three maples at a larger diameter, broke up the small concrete patio and replaced it with one about four times the size, cut a pattern into the new concrete, installed and wired new lighting around it, carried in, stained and constructed the pergola from the ground up, regraded a low spot, and planted dozens of new plants.

The same crew did all of it, working roughly 7:30am to 5:00pm, and finished in about two weeks.

From the customer
“From start to finish, it took LKM about two weeks to complete the project. This pace amazed us. Most amazingly, the same crew did all of this work. The guys planting the prairie grass were the same guys cutting the wood for the pergola and putting it together.”
